Abandoned As A Baby

July 29th, 2010 by

She may be a hands-on mom now but Angelina Jolie wasn’t
always Miss domesticated growing up.
In fact, the Oscar-award winning actress was known more for her wild and
rebellious ways than anything, the result of her mother abandoning her when she
was a baby according to a new biography.

The author, Andrew Morton, best known for his controversial
bio of Princess Diana, claims that Jolie’s mother, Marcheline Bertrand,
banished the actress to a separate apartment in their LA home at just
one-year-old…leaving her in the care of staff for two years.

He then goes on to say that Bertrand didn’t accept Angelina
back into her life until she was three and the rejection left a deep
psychological scar on the star.

During her teenage years, Jolie eventually started using
cocaine and heroin - developing a reputation as a party animal and at one point
in her life - supposedly hired a hitman to murder her mother but changed her
mind.

Angelina has clearly come a long way since then.  She is now mother to six children and
serves as goodwill ambassador for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.

According to Angelina: An Unauthorized Biography is due to
be published this week.
